Start your accounting career in public practice

We are looking for a bright, dependable and detail-oriented accounting graduate who is ready to learn. You will work with real small-business clients, develop practical full-cycle bookkeeping skills and receive structured guidance from experienced team members.

Previous accounting-firm experience is not required. What matters most is a solid accounting foundation, careful work, strong follow-through and the ability to learn quickly from instructions and feedback.

What you will learn and do

- Enter and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop.

- Complete bank and credit-card reconciliations and investigate routine differences.

- Organize client records, maintain document checklists and follow up professionally for missing information.

- Assist with accounts receivable, accounts payable and general-ledger maintenance.

- Support payroll processing, source-deduction remittances, ROEs, T4s and related records.

- Assist with GST/HST, Saskatchewan PST and WCB calculations, reconciliations and filings under supervision.

- Prepare supporting schedules and organized bookkeeping files for month-end and year-end work.

- Use firm checklists, document the work completed and communicate questions clearly and promptly.

- Help with personal tax preparation and other accounting or administrative projects during busy periods.

- Build toward independently managing a portfolio of straightforward bookkeeping clients as your skills develop.

What we are looking for

- A recently completed post-secondary diploma or degree in accounting, business administration or a related field.

- Zero to one year of bookkeeping, accounting, co-op or relevant office experience.

- A sound understanding of debit and credit, bank reconciliations and basic financial statements.

- Comfort with Microsoft Excel and the ability to learn new accounting software quickly.

- Strong attention to detail and the patience to check your own work before submitting it for review.

- Ability to follow written procedures, organize competing tasks and meet recurring deadlines.

- A practical problem-solving mindset: willing to investigate first, explain what you found and ask focused questions.

- Professional written and verbal English and a respectful, client-service-oriented attitude.

- Integrity, confidentiality, reliability and a genuine interest in building a long-term accounting career.

Assets

- Experience with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, CaseWare or TaxCycle through school, co-op or employment.

- Previous customer-service or professional-office experience.

- Mandarin proficiency is a strong asset because we serve a significant Mandarin-speaking client base; Vietnamese proficiency is also an asset.
